Humanistic Thinking™
Design Thinking gave the world a useful starting point. Humanistic Thinking™ takes it further. Our proprietary framework moves through four phases, Listen, Feel, Think, and Do, but the key difference is that it is genuinely non-linear. Teams move between phases as the problem demands, guided by one question throughout: is this actually a problem worth solving?

Most innovation frameworks assume you already know what problem you are solving. Humanistic Thinking™ starts earlier than that.
Developed by Acoustic from the foundations of Design Thinking, the framework is built around the belief that the quality of a solution is entirely dependent on the quality of the problem you identified in the first place. Get the problem wrong and everything that follows, the ideation, the prototyping, the build, is effort pointed in the wrong direction.
The four phases, Listen, Feel, Think, and Do, are not steps in a sequence. They are lenses. A team might spend time in Listen, move into Think, discover something that sends them back to Feel, and only then be ready to Do. The process follows the problem, not the other way around.
Wrapping around the entire model is what we call the Augment layer. This is where AI tools and intelligent agents come in, enhancing every phase of the process and lifting the quality of thinking at each stage. Not replacing human judgement. Sharpening it.
The framework sits at the centre of everything Acoustic does. It informs how we run discovery, how we facilitate workshops, how we brief and build products, and how we train teams to think differently about the problems in front of them. Whether you engage us for strategy, a digital build, or an internal training programme, Humanistic Thinking™ is the model underneath it all.
