Complete identity and digital platform for the Fondazione Tancredi Parmeggiani, dedicated to the legacy of one of Italy's most significant postwar painters. Trilingual across Italian, Norwegian and English, built to serve both scholarly and public audiences, with a typographic identity designed to carry institutional authority without overshadowing the work it exists to protect.

Fondazione Tancredi Parmeggiani
Tancredi Parmeggiani was one of the most significant Italian artists of the postwar era, a painter whose work moved between abstraction and figuration with restless energy, and whose short life, he died in 1964 aged just 36, left a body of work that continues to attract scholarly and institutional attention worldwide.
The Fondazione Tancredi Parmeggiani exists to preserve, promote, and disseminate that legacy: cataloguing and stewarding works, supporting research and publications, organising exhibitions and educational programmes, and issuing certificates of authenticity as the sole authorised body through its Scientific Committee.
That mandate required a digital presence worthy of the artist and the institution. What existed before was not.
Acoustic designed and built a complete new platform for the Foundation: identity, logo, and website, working across Italian, Norwegian and English to serve both the scholarly community and the broader cultural public that Tancredi's work continues to reach.
The identity is typographic in its logic. The wordmark sets FONDAZIONE in restrained grey, subordinate to the bold black of TANCREDI PARMEGGIANI below, with a single deep red rectangle sitting after the artist's name like a brushstroke, a mark, a signature. It is the kind of logo that carries genuine authority without trying to compete with the work it represents. On a building facade, on a glass door, reversed out on black, it holds at every scale and in every context.
The website is built to handle the full complexity of a working cultural institution. A tickertape banner surfaces current exhibitions in real time. The works catalogue gives scholars and collectors a structured, searchable view of the archive. The Foundation section presents the mission, the board, and the institutional context clearly. Events, history, archive, and contact are all accessible without friction.
The trilingual structure, Italian, Norwegian and English, reflects the Foundation's audience: the Italian cultural and academic world that is the primary home of Tancredi's legacy, the Norwegian domicile, and the international institutional network that engages with his work across museums and collections worldwide.
The platform is a complete web application built in Next.js with Sanity Studio as the headless CMS, giving the Foundation's team full editorial control over exhibitions, works, events, and archive content without touching the codebase. New shows can be published, catalogue entries updated, and the tickertape banner refreshed in minutes. For an institution that operates across multiple programmes simultaneously, that independence matters.
The headline chosen for the artist section, "Life Is Still Entirely to Be Discovered," is Tancredi's own last words. It was the only copy decision that mattered.
