Cochild

Client: Cochild Pte. Ltd.

Year: 2026

An AI-powered co-parenting platform co-founded by Erik Ingvoldstad and built through Acoustic, combining mobile-first parental communication tools, automated tone modulation, and institutional compliance dashboards into a single product. Born from the pressing reality of high-conflict separation cases and brought to market to insulate children from domestic friction. Built on the conviction that the best interests of the child must be protected by technology that defuses conflict rather than merely documenting it.

Cochild

An Acoustic venture — founded by Erik Ingvoldstad

Cochild started as a response to a systemic failure. In high-conflict family separations, the legal and social systems designed to protect children often end up documenting their parents' worst moments rather than preventing them. Communication channels become battlegrounds. Parents send hostile messages into a permanent record, and children are caught in the crossfire. The friction is real, and most legal or co-parenting technology has addressed it by doing the same thing as traditional messaging apps—acting as a passive inbox—rather than doing something fundamentally different. The challenge became a conviction. The conviction became a company.

Cochild was built around a single belief: that the best co-parenting outcomes are achieved through de-escalation, not just compliance. Court orders and maintenance agreements matter, but so do the daily tone of communication, boundary-setting, and keeping the focus strictly on the child's well-being. Traditional text messages capture none of that restraint. Cochild was designed to enforce it.

The parent experience was built around a mobile app that combined daily logistical coordination with an AI-powered tone analysis and modulation engine delivered as a real-time, low-friction writing assistant. Rather than allowing reactive messaging, Cochild intercepts communication, flags emotionally charged language, and suggests neutral alternatives before a text can be sent. The interface makes keeping the peace intuitive, while the underlying RAG+ data infrastructure ensuring complete legal compliance and pseudonymisation is anything but simple.

On the institutional side, the platform gave family lawyers, social workers, and courts a dashboard that brought communication compliance metrics, access schedules, and dispute resolution tracking into a single view. The objective sentiment analysis system gave professionals a way to assess parental cooperation on dimensions that actually predict child welfare, not just hearsay. The analytics visualisation, mapping behavioural compliance over time, gave family courts a genuinely different way to evaluate custody cases and intervene early.

The product was built to serve both individual families and public social services, with a scalable model that made sophisticated behavioural and legal tech accessible to government ministries and family justice frameworks looking to alleviate court caseloads.

Cochild was founded by Erik in 2025 and developed through to 2026, launching later in 2026.
